BLU Intern Experience: Bryce Ries Edition
For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Bryce Ries. In a few days I will be graduating with a bachelors in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. My time has come to leave BLU and I think it is fair that I let everyone know how awesome the team is.
Going into my last semester at the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, I was looking for more “real-world” marketing experience. I had always wanted to work on the creative side of the industry and after some research I decided to send Tony an email. Getting this opportunity at BLU was huge for my personal and professional development. There is no doubt that I will hold on to the skills I have learned here as I begin my life after college.
From the beginning, the team at BLU was amazing and helped me get acclimated to the company and how they operate. When I started I had no idea what I wanted to do, which offered me the opportunity to learn a little of everything. I am now able to walk away a few months later with several skills that I never imagined I would have before graduating. However, the biggest thing I learned is how to talk to people. One of my first days we had a meeting with one of our clients that were looking for new business cards. The way the team talked with the client to make sure they were getting everything they wanted is what stood out to me. There was no question left unasked. From that day on I knew I was going to enjoy my experience here at BLU. The team truly cares about their work and will do whatever it takes to make sure the client is getting what is right for them.
Looking back on my time at BLU I am very happy to have gotten this opportunity. Tony, Amanda, and Lucy have taught me many things that I never would have learned without this experience. Along with the skills I learned, BLU provided a great opportunity to learn out of the classroom and hangout with some pretty darn cool people along the way. I look forward to keeping up with the team and occasionally popping in just to say hi every time I am back in La Crosse. Anyone that ever gets the opportunity to work with the team at BLU, whether it be a client or the next intern, is surely in for a one-of-a-kind treat. Thanks for everything and never forget to keep being awesome!
The kid that uses too many exclamation points,
