Employee Spotlight Q&A: Lucy Neuberger
Meet Lucy, one of the creative geniuses at The BLU Group! She has taken a break from helping our awesome clients to answer a few questions about her position at BLU, her interests, and some other fun facts about herself as well.
Q. What is your role at The BLU Group?
A. I am a graphic and web designer here at BLU. But, not only do I design print pieces like brochures, billboards, logos, etc. I also design and build websites, e-newsletters, e-announcements, social media creative, and other digital creative.
Q. What is your favorite part about working for The BLU Group?
A. I’d have to say I have two favorite parts, the people I work with and helping our amazing clients achieve their goals with whatever design work they need done.
Q. What do you find the most challenging about your job?
A. Staying on top of all the new and different ways to print designs, and also the new trends and ways to build websites.
Q. How do you spend your free time?
A. No matter the season I’m spending time outside with my husband and our daughter. Our favorite activity is to go on hiking adventures/road trips to state parks in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Q. Do you have a favorite quote?
A. I have so many favorite quotes it’s hard to pick just one. If I had to pick one right now, I’d have to say it’s one from my mom: “Just ask. The worst thing they can say is ‘No’.”
Q. If you could be anyone from any time period who would it be and why?
A. I’d have to go with Annie Jump Cannon. She is the “Queen of Modern Astronomy” and absolutely AMAZING! She lived during the Victorian-era and had an unconventional life – her parents sent her to college and she went to grad school to study astronomy(!). To top it off, she followed her dreams, bucked conventional wisdom, and kicked butt while doing it and she’s a pretty awesome lady. Did I mention that the star classification system that she came up with has become the de-facto standard and remains (with slight modifications) to this day? Yeah, pretty crazy amazing. Q. If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A. Either BLTs and French fries, or Bacon cheeseburgers (with everything on them) and French fries. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it….Yum!!
