“When are my big dreams actually going to happen?”
A friend asked me this just the other day. He wants to get into financial planning, but really big. He has applied for countless jobs online and nothing has come about. He lives in his parents’ basement and loves the “cush” lifestyle. Where are his big dreams hiding?
Another friend wants to be extremely rich but has a hard time working the full 7 hours a day, 5 days a week that he is required to work without calling in “sick” once a month. Not to mention strolls in late and plays fantasy baseball for the first 1/2 hour. Where are his big dreams hiding?
Another friend works full-time as the night manager at a fast food restaurant while attending grad school, volunteering to teach English to immigrants and coaching high school baseball. He wants to be a full-time high school business class teacher and coach a varsity baseball team. He has wanted to do this for the last 5 years of his life. He works his tale off hurdled over greasy fryers into the late hours of the night and heads to school in the morning. Where are his big dreams hiding? They’re not. He committed himself to his dreams. He is not afraid of his dreams and he is not too lazy to work for his dreams. As a result, he will be finishing Grad school in a year with the credentials (and then some) for someone to want to hire him for his own, personal dream job.
Your big dreams are not going to happen until you go out there and try.
