Finding the right purpose.
Everything has a purpose. Even when you chose to do something aimlessly just for the sake of doing it, that serves a purpose in itself.
The trick is to find the right purpose for what you are doing. If you are the volunteer recruiter for a non-profit your purpose is not to see how many potential volunteers you can call in an hour, it is to see how many volunteers you can retain in a month. If you are the social media coordinator at an energy drink company your purpose is not to see how fun you can make your Facebook page, it is to find out how you can use social media to increase your bottom line.
All your actions and decisions have a purpose, you job is to find the correct one. Your personal success usually lies in the purpose of an action for someone else. But don’t forget that other individual’s purpose may lie in an action done for you.
