Nice guys don’t finish at all.
In business, many owners seem to have a cut-throat attitude focused towards the progression of their companies at no expense. These people usually take things a little bit too serious and some even live by the over used expression “nice guys finish last”. This type of attitude can be a bit extreme and detrimental.
But then there is the 100% nice guy approach to business. These are the people that won’t fire anyone next to a Bernie Madoff because they don’t like conflict. These are the business owners who are afraid to pull some strings and push some buttons. They don’t finish last, they just never finish at all. Sometimes they slowly fade away and then convert their business into a passive-aggressive consumer depressing machine.
Three recommendations for business owners: Grow a backbone, make tough decisions, and don’t forget to smile along the way. Cheers.
